Book – The Nine-Chambered Heart
Author – Janice Pariat
Genre – Coming-of-age story
Nine people recollect their relationship with the same lady whom they have loved her or who has loved them.
The book is a collection of short stories where, in each story, the person expresses the intensity of their relationship with the protagonist from
beginning to end. The book provides another perspective of love. With the ending of each chapter, their relationship also ends, but the memory of the person conceives a chamber in the heart of the lady.
Though the stories, their characters, their progress is diverse and unique, together they have developed the book and the protagonist like a college picture.
Things I liked in this story:
You don’t need to have similar interests to be friends or partners.
Love can come at any age in any form, even from the person you least expected.
We should not ignore the efforts our loved ones make to see the smile on our faces.
It may not always be true that two people will be happy together even if they love each other.
Why should you read the book?
For a better understanding of love and relationship.
The book shows the protagonist through the perspectives of nine different characters, and let the reader form the character of the protagonist.
Every chapter has something worth learned.
Though every relationship has imperfections together, they shape a person.
